Generations @ Work
9:30 AM 4:00 PM
Two major forces affecting design today are
culture and technology. In this session, participants
will explore the characteristics of each
generation and the effect on both the emotional
health of individuals and the organizational
welfare of those who share one work environment.
The presenter will discuss the latest
trends as they relate to speed, display and
visual characteristics in our environment and
how these elements affect the broad range of
generations in today’s workforce. Attendees
will leave with a better understanding of the
convergence phenomenon and how to use this
information to leverage the design of space
to promote positive relationships among the
generations.

A New Point of View on
Office Ergonomics
9:30 AM 12:15 PM 5:15 PM
Emerging trends and new insights into the
science of ergonomics are leading businesses
to alter their point of view on office
ergonomics. The traditional view has centered
around the physical science and the prevention
of injury. The emerging view expands
the ergonomics lens to one that looks at the
impact that three different, yet related sciences
– physical, cognitive, and social/cultural
– have on wellness, productivity and attraction
and retention of employees. In this discussion
you’ll learn some surprising new findings that
you can directly apply to your workplace.
